CMF Designer
The CMF (Color, Material, and Finish) Designer is responsible for collaborating with industrial designers, project managers & material suppliers, to forecast, develop, and implement color, material and finish plans as well as graphics for our wide range of White River Marine Group’s products. Establishing a consistent and harmonious color and material balance throughout the product including hull colors, exterior graphics, upholstery color breakup, flooring, console panels and various other components.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and implements Color, Material and Finish strategies for WRMG brands.
- Manages and analyzes trends in fashion, lifestyle, emerging technology, and colors for relevant product segments.
- Creates color trend and forecast presentations.
- Attends appropriate trade shows and boat shows to stay current in Color, Material and Finish design trends.
- Works with material supplier partners on current and future product offerings.
- Defines appropriate materials to enable brand differentiation across product segments.
- Identifies the need for new or refreshed color palettes and develops them.
- Creates renderings to communicate Color, Material and Finish strategy to design teams, product managers, sales managers, and key segment members.
- Develops Color, Material and Finish color boards and showcase color & material proposals.
- Own the color & finish matching process with manufacturing and material suppliers.
- Communicate color and material targets to product manufacturing (color break-up, sew styles, material & finish specs).
- Assists Industrial Designers or supplier partners in creating graphic design proposals for hull decals and logos.
- Establishes and maintains a color and material library as a resource for the CMF & Industrial Design team.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience
- Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial (Product), or Transportation Design with CMF focus
- Years of experience: 0-3 years
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Demonstrates proficient knowledge of essential tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Keyshot (or other rendering software), Microsoft Office, Other presentation/layout software as needed
- Proficient knowledge of a wide variety of materials including, but not limited to: vinyl, plastic, metals, coatings, flooring, aluminum, fiberglass and more
- Proficient presentation skills as well as effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to autonomously generate and support pragmatic solutions that meet project timelines
- Exceptional time management with ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional travel to local manufacturing facilities, regional trade shows and supplier partners
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regular computer work, walking, sitting and standing
- Occasional lifting up to 50lbs
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
- Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
